POEM : THAT PEACE MIGHT REIGN
The last time I checked,
Under the radiance of the moonlight,
We sat and ate in the same bowl at night
As we listened to tales and fables.
Back in those days
Living together in peace
Was literally a piece of cake.
The last time I checked,
I ran around the street with other kids,
Without minding what religion they practiced.
Back in those days,
Our bond was beyond chemistry;
Love was our religion.
Alas, coming to this time of ours,
The love of power has killed the power of love.
Taking a spoon from a friend now comes with caution.
Peace is almost becoming an alien
As violence now steals the show.
I wish love for one another could be empowered
That peace might reign again.
